COMMON issue 1 has landed!

It is a pleasure to announce that Common Skate Mag is going to be a FREE magazine of which the first issue fresh back from the printers, ready for all readers to see. Find copies from right here on the website or at select local skate shops.

On the cover of this issue, Ethan Birch graces a mostly untouched Patcham handrail with a Fs Boardslide to get the shot on his last go before the spot went bust. On the back, Harvey Watson-Newman Varial flips some of Brighton’s finest cheese grater crust.

Featuring:

Sam Allison’s stories of skating to Africa, an interview with artist Stink Nekk, a recap on @shorham park’s recent jams, @source kicker to can session and more.

For those who may know, this magazine is the first issue of what was formerly known as BiPola Skate Mag. After much consideration, the decision was made to make a change, leaving the name of BiPola in the past and starting a new journey. The name BiPola had connotations and intentions that did not always carry through like they should have, and as a result felt unfitting for the name to keep, when moving onto the new era of this project.

This by no means discredits the amazing people and groups that have worked with the magazine to bring the previous 4 issues of the magazine to life, but it felt like things were ready to move on. A massive thank you to every single one of those people who have supported the journey so far and have been loyal from the very beginning, and thank you to those who may have never seen the magazine before and have picked it up for the first time.

This change comes as part of a rebirth of the magazine, alongside now being a free publication, with a new rising quality in content. The magazine is a project that is forever growing, changing and getting better as time goes on so while nothing can be perfect, this is one step further in making COMMON SKATE MAG the best that it can be, and bringing the best content to as many readers as possible. I am looking forward to showing you all what the future has to offer.

Thanks,

Zakk

Big love to everyone who has supported the journey and helped to make this issue possible
